L&T Technology Services, a global leader in Engineering Intelligence Solutions and ER&D Consulting Services, successfully concluded the Engineering Intelligence (EI) OpenHack 2026, with AI-Native Engineering Solutions in the spotlight. It was the first global innovation challenge of its kind, held simultaneously across nine locations in India, the US and Europe. The initiative further highlighted the LTTS’ sustained dedication to AI-Native Engineering Solutions through collaborative innovation. The hackathon reiterated the company’s vision for AI-Native Engineering Solutions that meet the evolving demands of the industry.
More than 770 teams and some 4,000 engineers took part in the global hackathon. Participants joined in from Bangalore, Mysore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Vadodara, Mumbai, Dallas and Munich. Together, they solved complex engineering problems using artificial intelligence and deep engineering know-how.
More than 500 challenge statements aligned to the strategic business priorities of LTTS were part of the competition. The key focus areas were Software Defined Mobility, Plant Buildout and Modernization, Energy and Automation, Next-Gen Compute and AI Infrastructure, Digital Manufacturing, MedTech, and Software Platforms and AI.
Additionally, participants leveraged industry knowledge and emerging technologies to create novel AI-powered applications. Their solutions cover industrial automation, cybersecurity, autonomous systems, supply chain intelligence, enterprise optimization and healthcare. The projects demonstrated, therefore, how artificial intelligence can help businesses redesign products, streamline operations and improve business decision-making.
Global engineers lead AI innovation across industries
The submissions were evaluated through multiple rounds of assessments by an experienced panel of senior LTTS leaders and technology experts. Judges reviewed each solution according to criteria including innovation, technical excellence, scalability, real-world business value, and effective use of AI.
Winning teams took home cash prizes of over INR 30 lakh. Several other excellent projects were also awarded opportunities to further their development through Project Equinox. This platform for LTTS enables innovative and scalable engineering solutions with high commercial potential.
In addition, the company has selected a number of innovations that are patent-worthy for special recognition. The program offers participants an opportunity to develop breakthrough concepts into valuable intellectual property while encouraging continued innovation across engineering disciplines.
