Some enterprise problems simply can’t be solved by adding more servers. Sometimes, you need one extraordinarily powerful machine. HPE has built exactly that. The company announced the HPE Compute Scale-up Server 3250. It is a purpose-built server for in-memory databases. It delivers scalability, resilience, performance, and security for critical business workloads.
Industry-First Memory Capacity and Speed
The headline spec is hard to ignore. The server scales from four sockets up to 16. It supports up to 64 TB of DDR5 memory. That enables customers to run financial services applications, large-scale databases, and systems of record without compromise. The server also holds a major benchmark distinction. It is the first scale-up server validated by the SAP BW Edition HANA benchmark with at least 48 terabytes of memory.
Speed is equally impressive. A dedicated external node controller delivers performance 100 times faster than Ethernet used in scale-out deployments. Security goes all the way down to the chip level. HPE Integrated Lights Out spans every layer, from the chip to the cloud. It covers the entire lifecycle of the server. HPE iLO establishes a silicon root of trust through a dedicated security processor. Validated firmware safeguards against future threats with post-quantum cryptography.
Krista Satterthwaite, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Compute at HPE, explained what sets this server apart:
“HPE Compute Scale-up Server 3250 raises the bar for business-critical infrastructure. Designed for complex business applications like enterprise resource planning and customer relationship management systems, this system helps customers in ways competitive offerings cannot, allowing them to run faster transactions, gain insights in real time, and support analytics without slowing down business. With simpler operations, always-on reliability, and chip-to-cloud security, we’re redefining what scale looks like for workloads with zero-tolerance downtime.”
Kevork Kechichian, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Data Center Group at Intel, added:
“Our collaboration with HPE continues to blaze the trail for mission-critical, in-memory computing. The HPE Compute Scale-Up Server 3250, powered by Intel Xeon 6 processors, brings together exceptional compute density, scalability, and reliability to help enterprises run their most critical data-intensive workloads.”
The HPE Compute Scale-up Server 3250 succeeds the Intel-based HPE Scale-up Server 3200. HPE was recently named a leader in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide SAP HANA Certified Servers Appliances 2026 Vendor Assessment. The server is available now. Customers can acquire it through HPE Financial Services’ 90/9 Advantage program. It offers no payments for 90 days and nine months at one percent interest.
