Silicon Motion Storage Solutions to Headline Future of Memory and Storage (FMS) 2026 Silicon Motion Storage Solutions focuses on AI Factory, Edge AI, and Physical AI applications using advanced storage technologies. Silicon Motion Storage Solutions also meet the growing demand for high-performance data access in today’s AI environments.
Silicon Motion Technology Corporation (NasdaqGS: SIMO) is a worldwide leader in NAND flash controller design for solid-state storage devices. The company will showcase its newest innovations in Santa Clara, California, August 4–6. The company will present its newest technologies during the event. Visitors to the industry event can see the company’s latest technologies at Booth #315.
As artificial intelligence moves past training large language models, agentic AI depends more and more on real-time inference capabilities. Therefore, storage architectures need to provide predictable performance, low latency and faster data access. Silicon Motion’s latest portfolio was built to address evolving needs across enterprise infrastructure and edge computing. It also supports embedded systems and automotive platforms.
Silicon Motion Broadens AI Storage to Edge, Enterprise Computing
Featured Technologies include the SM8366 MonTitan™ SSD Reference Design Kit for KV cache offload and Agentic AI Infrastructure. The platform uses the SM8366 PCIe Gen5 controller and supports U.2, E3.S and E3.L form factors with both TLC and QLC NAND. In terms of storage capacities, it can range from 32TB and 64TB (with TLC NAND) up to 256TB (with QLC NAND).
It also supports up to 28% configurable over-provisioning, providing up to 3 drive writes per day (DWPD) endurance ratings. Silicon Motion’s patented PerformaShape™ QoS Engine also provides ultra-low latency and predictable quality of service. This makes AI inference and KV cache offload faster and more robust.
Also on display will be Silicon Motion’s SM8466 PCIe Gen6 enterprise SSD controller, offering up to 28 GB/s sequential throughput and 7 million random IOPS. Enterprise SSD capacities over 512TB for data intensive AI workloads Supported by the controller.
The SM8388 PCIe Gen5 enterprise SSD controller has a single-controller architecture that is optimized for high-capacity enterprise SSDs. This enables organizations to deploy cost-effective storage solutions for hyperscale AI infrastructure and large-scale AI inference environments.
The company will also release Enterprise PCIe NVMe Boot SSD Solutions for AI Factory applications. These solutions provide reliable boot storage for AI storage nodes, enterprise servers, networking equipment and DPUs. The SM8008 PCIe Gen5 enterprise controller also conforms to the OCP Boot Drive specification and provides up to 14 GB/sec performance with 5W or less of power.
New Controllers Power AI PCs, Mobile Devices and Automotive Platforms
Silicon Motion to expand Edge AI portfolio with SM2524XT PCIe Gen5 DRAM-less SSD controller The controller delivers 14.5 GB/sec sequential read and 2.8 million IOPS random performance. This allows AI PCs to do inference faster and process KV cache more efficiently.
The company will also release the SM2508 PCIe Gen5 SSD controller, which delivers up to 14.5 GB/s read/write speeds and 2.5 million IOPS random performance for high-performance Edge artificial intelligence systems.
Silicon Motion is introducing the SM2755 UFS 4.1 controller for embedded applications targeting AI-enabled smartphones, wearable tech and smart edge devices. Meanwhile, the SM2738 eMMC 5.1 controller supports embedded, industrial and smart home applications with improved reliability and lower power consumption.
Finally, Silicon Motion will demonstrate its Ferri storage portfolio for automotive and Physical AI deployments. These embedded storage solutions meet AEC-Q100 Grade 2/3, ISO 26262, ISO 21434 and ASPICE standards. That’s why Ferri backs software-defined vehicles, autonomous systems, robotics, drones and mission-critical edge computing.
