L&T Technology Services, a premier global engineering and technology services firm, has opened an advanced Engineering Design Center in Plano, Texas, further reinforcing its commitment to empowering U.S. customers with AI, cybersecurity, and intelligent manufacturing capabilities.

A compliant ITAR facility, the new center will help in the design, development, and testing of defense technologies. A standalone Security Operations Center (SoC) will also be established, which will drive innovations in smart cities and cybersecurity solutions. To be able to house 100 engineers at inception, LTTS intends to develop over 350 high-skilled roles in verticals like mobility, smart technology, and industrial manufacturing.

The facility was officially inaugurated by Plano Mayor John B. Muns, Caterpillar VP Tim Graham, Indian Consul General Manjunath Chenneerappa, and LTTS Mobility & Tech President Alind Saxena. Demonstrations during the opening included futuristic solutions such as:

  • Factory of the Future for Industry 4.0 digital manufacturing
  • TrackEI™, a real-time rail track inspection system
  • iDriVe platform, integrating ADAS, wireless charging, and smart battery management
  • Fusion, an AI-enabled real-time insight engine for smart city and industrial use
  • Software Defined Imaging powered by NVIDIA Jetson™, improving precision and affordability of endoscopic procedures

U.S. Senator Ted Cruz praised the launch, noting the center’s role in boosting Texas’s leadership in AI innovation and employment. “This center is a symbol of excellence and future-ready innovation, with the potential to employ up to 400 engineers,” he said.

Plano Mayor John B. Muns highlighted the significance of the project on the local level, calling it “an important step for North Texas” and congratulating LTTS on charting the future of smart manufacturing.

Congressman Pat Fallon welcomed the investment, pointing to its role in cementing an even stronger Texas position as a center of digital transformation and high-tech engineering careers.

“Moreover, Plano is today a pillar of our delivery strategy across the world,” said Alind Saxena. He also emphasized that the center puts LTTS in closer proximity to its clients, thereby facilitating co-creation with local partners and talent.

This new center reinforces LTTS’s strategic focus on AI-driven innovation, cybersecurity solutions, and state-of-the-art engineering, a first for the company and the technology ecosystem of the region.
