OpenAI has overhauled the pricing strategy for its business-focused ChatGPT Enterprise platform in response to intensifying competition in the AI sector.
The company previously offered its enterprise solution at a fixed rate. Now, OpenAI has transitioned to a credit-based system, allowing clients to customize their plans by purchasing credits to access advanced tools and add features, according to a source familiar with the changes.
This new pricing model varies depending on the number of credits a company acquires, making it easier for businesses of different sizes to scale usage across teams.
Additionally, as reported by The Information on Wednesday, OpenAI has begun offering discounted ChatGPT subscriptions, with reductions ranging between 10% and 20%. However, the exact pricing for ChatGPT Enterprise remains undisclosed.
OpenAI’s rapid growth continues to reshape the AI industry. The company has reached an annual recurring revenue of $10 billion as of June, primarily driven by the widespread adoption of ChatGPT.
Notably, OpenAI also maintains a content licensing partnership with News Corp, the parent company of Dow Jones Newswires and The Wall Street Journal.
