Qualcomm and Hugging Face Strengthen Partnership to Drive Open, Developer-Driven AI from Device to Cloud

Qualcomm and Hugging Face Expand Relationship to Advance Open, Developer-Driven AI from Device to Cloud

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. has expanded its relationship with Hugging Face to advance Open, Developer-Driven AI across devices and cloud infrastructure. The collaboration combines Qualcomm Technologies’ platforms with Hugging Face’s developer ecosystem, model library, and software tools. Developers can build and deploy AI applications more efficiently across the compute continuum.

The company’s aim is to create a seamless AI experience that connects edge devices and cloud systems powered by Qualcomm Technologies products. Furthermore, the collaboration supports hybrid inference at scale while helping organizations balance performance, latency, and cost. This approach makes advanced AI capabilities more accessible for developers and enterprises worldwide.

“This engagement represents a major step forward in making advanced AI more open, scalable, and accessible,” said Cristiano Amon, President and CEO, Qualcomm Incorporated. “By combining Qualcomm’s leadership in high-performance, low-power computing with Hugging Face’s vibrant developer ecosystem, we are enabling a new generation of AI applications that seamlessly span device and cloud.”

“Increasingly the world is running on open and local models because they’re more affordable than the big APIs and private by design,” said Clément Delangue, Co-founder and CEO, Hugging Face. “Together with Qualcomm Technologies, using Modular software and tools, we’re making it easy for our 16 million developers to run open models everywhere, from a device in your hand to a full rack in the data center, with agents that work across the compute continuum.”

Collaboration Focuses on Data Centers, AI Deployment, and Agentic AI

The expanded relationship focuses on three strategic areas. First, Qualcomm Technologies plans to connect its data center infrastructure with Hugging Face’s AI storage infrastructure. Through this initiative, Hugging Face storage and inference services will operate on high-performance and energy-efficient solutions powered by Qualcomm Dragonfly products. Consequently, developers can move AI projects from experimentation to production more efficiently, helping scale Open, Developer-Driven AI across enterprise environments.

Second, the companies plan to accelerate AI model deployment across Qualcomm Technologies-powered devices and data center environments. Hugging Face currently offers more than three million open models across different tasks and industries. Under the collaboration, an AI agent will handle setup, optimization, and deployment processes. Therefore, developers can onboard models with minimal manual effort while expanding access to Open, Developer-Driven AI across devices and cloud infrastructure.

The initiative supports smartphones, PCs, wearables, industrial systems, automotive platforms, emerging edge devices, and cloud environments. Additionally, Hugging Face will provide access to Hugging Face PRO for customers using devices or cloud systems powered by Qualcomm Technologies platforms.

Third, Qualcomm Technologies and Hugging Face plan to support agentic AI orchestration across hybrid environments. Intelligent agents will operate across devices and cloud systems while selecting models and workflows based on performance, privacy, cost, and latency requirements.

Moreover, developers will gain access to Modular’s AI software components and development tools through the Hugging Face ecosystem. These capabilities aim to simplify AI development and strengthen hybrid AI experiences across device and cloud environments.

Through this expanded relationship, Qualcomm Technologies and Hugging Face continue advancing Open, Developer-Driven AI while helping developers build scalable applications that move seamlessly from devices to cloud infrastructure.
