Palantir Technologies Inc. and Armada today announced a new partnership. The deal will deliver sovereign AI infrastructure manufactured in the United States and allied nations. Palantir also named Armada its Inaugural Certified Modular Data Center Partner.
The joint offering pairs Palantir’s Sovereign AI Operating System with Armada’s infrastructure layer. That layer includes modular data centers, the Armada Platform, and the Sovereign AI Grid. The platform keeps every deployment under the customer’s control. Meanwhile, the grid connects deployments into a resilient distributed system. As a result, enterprises and governments can run open-weight models on infrastructure they own and control outright. Moreover, they can deploy it in months rather than years.
Why Demand for Sovereign AI Is Rising
Demand for sovereign AI infrastructure has accelerated as organizations seek less dependence on hosted models. They also want to reduce reliance on hardware supply chains outside their control. Palantir’s enterprise and government customers have increasingly requested a different approach. They want model weights, data, and physical systems to stay inside their own security boundary. Renting capacity from providers outside their jurisdiction no longer meets that need. In addition, customers want new AI capacity online in months. They prefer sites where power is already available, instead of waiting years for new construction.
The partnership extends the Palantir Sovereign AI Operating System Reference Architecture, which Palantir developed jointly with NVIDIA. It now hosts computer infrastructure that customers physically own. Customers adapt open models on their own data, and those models run under the customers’ control.
How the Joint Sovereign AI Stack Works
Under the agreement, Palantir will validate and integrate its Sovereign AI Operating System on Armada’s Galleon modular data centers. The operating system builds on AIP, Ontology, Foundry, and Apollo. Meanwhile, the Armada Platform and Sovereign AI Grid provide control and resilience across every deployment.
The joint offering builds on the Palantir Sovereign AI OS Reference Architecture with NVIDIA. However, it extends that architecture to a ruggedized, modular data center. Customers can deploy open-weight models and continually adapt them on their own proprietary data. Furthermore, they can serve those models to Palantir’s platforms entirely within infrastructure that never leaves their control. Manufacturers build the modular data centers in the U.S. and allied nations.
The Armada Platform serves as the company’s software layer. It distills the latest open-source models, including NVIDIA Nemotron. Teams then use those models for fine-tuning and inference on infrastructure they own and control. The platform needs no external cloud, including any operated by Armada. It can also operate fully air-gapped where the mission requires it. Additionally, it monitors each deployment’s power, cooling, and computation in real time.
The sovereign AI infrastructure Grid links these deployments into one distributed system. Therefore, critical AI workloads never depend on a single site. Together with Galleon hardware and Palantir’s Sovereign AI Operating System, the result is a single integrated stack. Customers own that stack end to end.
Alex Karp, co-founder and CEO of Palantir, explained the thinking behind the deal.
“Sovereignty is not something you rent. It is owning the weights, the data, and the hardware those models run on—and knowing where that hardware was built,” said Alex Karp, co-founder and CEO of Palantir. “Our ontology gives institutions control over their data, their models, and the inputs they use to fine-tune models. Armada gives them control over the infrastructure those models operate from, manufactured in the United States and allied nations and delivered in months.”
Dan Wright, Co-founder and CEO of Armada, also shared his perspective.
“Palantir makes the software governments and enterprises trust with their most consequential decisions. Armada brings the infrastructure layer beneath it: hardware manufactured in the United States and with trusted allies, a platform that keeps every deployment under the customer’s control without reliance on any external cloud, and the Sovereign AI Grid that connects deployments into a system resilient by design,” said Dan Wright, Co-founder and CEO of Armada. “Together we make sovereign AI faster to deploy, more sovereign, and more resilient—on-grid, off-grid, or fully air-gapped, in months instead of years.”
