Keysight Technologies and Sateliot have officially won the fifth annual ESA and GSMA Foundry Innovation Challenge. Their joint project is titled “Blockchain-enabled anomaly detection end-to-end solution for 5G Non-Terrestrial Networks.” This award recognizes their work in creating secure and reliable satellite integration for future 3GPP networks. This news comes after their demonstration at Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona. The funding was made possible by the ESA Space for 5G/6G and Sustainable Connectivity initiative.
Blockchain and AI for Future 6G Networks
The winning team combined blockchain with artificial intelligence to create a new security layer. This system uses digital calibration certificates to track network health from the factory to orbit. By making satellites more autonomous, the solution improves overall network reliability and reduces downtime. It also gives operators the tools to find and fix performance issues instantly. These tools are vital for maintaining trust in hybrid space-terrestrial systems.
This project comes at a time when satellite networks are moving toward wide commercial use. Keysight provided the advanced testing tools needed to see inside these complex 5G and 6G systems. Sateliot focused on building the resilience needed for secure infrastructure in space. Together, they are helping the industry prepare for the next generation of global connectivity. This win shows a strong commitment to keeping telecommunications secure and independent.
Eric Taylor, Vice President at Keysight, spoke about the team’s achievement.
“This recognition from the European Space Agency and the GSMA Foundry underscores the importance of trust, assurance, and autonomy as NTNs scale toward commercial readiness. Our collaboration with Sateliot demonstrates how advanced test, measurement, and AI‑driven analytics can bring unprecedented visibility into hybrid space-terrestrial networks.”
Albert Pujol, the CIO at Sateliot, also shared his pride in the project.
“This award is a recognition of the talent of our R&D team in creating a trusted architecture. Together with Keysight, we have demonstrated that Sateliot not only offers global connectivity but also leads the way in the resilience and operational autonomy necessary to transform space into a secure infrastructure.”
