DigitalOcean Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: DOCN) has partnered with AMD to enhance AI accessibility for developers by offering AMD Instinct™ GPUs through its cloud platform. This collaboration begins with the availability of AMD’s high-performance MI300X GPUs and will soon extend to include the powerful MI325X models.
DigitalOcean customers can now leverage these GPUs via GPU Droplets—virtual machines optimized for AI workloads—or as nodes within DigitalOcean Kubernetes clusters. With both single and eight-GPU configurations available, businesses can scale AI processing power based on their specific needs. The MI300X GPUs are engineered for high-performance computing (HPC) and generative AI tasks, featuring vast memory capacity capable of holding models with hundreds of billions of parameters.
“DigitalOcean’s collaboration with AMD is another step toward making AI easily accessible for our customers,” said Bratin Saha, Chief Product & Technology Officer at DigitalOcean. “We’re offering flexibility, power, and cost-efficiency—all on a simplified cloud platform.”
What sets this offering apart is DigitalOcean’s user-friendly setup. Unlike competitors that often require complex configurations, DigitalOcean enables customers to deploy GPU-powered environments with minimal effort. Pricing starts at $1.99 per GPU per hour, with enterprise-grade SLAs to support mission-critical applications.
In addition, customers will gain access to the AMD Developer Cloud, a new platform built on DigitalOcean’s infrastructure. Designed for rapid AI development, this managed environment eliminates the need for hardware investment, offering immediate access to MI300X GPUs. Developers can now fine-tune large language models (LLMs), benchmark inference speeds, or build scalable inference stacks seamlessly.
Negin Oliver, Corporate VP of Business Development at AMD, added, “Our partnership with DigitalOcean empowers developers with advanced tools to handle memory-intensive and performance-critical workloads. Together, we’re enabling the next wave of innovation for digital-native enterprises.”
This strategic alliance signals both companies’ commitment to democratizing AI and delivering robust, accessible infrastructure for startups and developers alike.
