CoreWeave AI Cloud Expansion Adds Denmark Capacity and Launches First Global AI Backbone Network

CoreWeave AI cloud expansion

CoreWeave, Inc., The Essential Cloud for AI™, today announced a major CoreWeave AI cloud expansion. The company has brought new computing capacity online in Denmark. It has also extended its Global AI Network into the Middle East and Asia Pacific. As a result, customers gain the performance, reliability, and connectivity they need to build and scale AI workloads across international markets.

AI workloads are moving into production across more industries and geographies. Therefore, customers need computing capacity close to where they operate. They also need to move large volumes of data securely and efficiently between regions. CoreWeave is expanding both capabilities through its fully integrated, purpose-built AI cloud platform. In turn, the company reduces the infrastructure complexity that can slow AI development and deployment.

Moreover, CoreWeave is building the first global AI backbone network designed specifically for AI workloads. The network runs at Petabit-scale. It connects locations in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific.

“Our customers need more than access to computing capacity. They need infrastructure that performs reliably at scale and the ability to move data and workloads wherever their business requires,” said Sachin Jain, chief operating officer of CoreWeave. “We’re expanding our global infrastructure and the network connecting it together, so customers can focus on building and improving AI rather than managing the complexity underneath it.”

New AI Cloud Capacity Goes Live in Copenhagen

CoreWeave has brought most of its planned 22.5 megawatts (MW) of IT capacity online at atNorth’s DEN01 data center in Copenhagen. This marks the company’s first deployment in Denmark. Additionally, DEN01 has a heat reuse agreement in place. The site supplies surplus heat to the district heating network. Consequently, it reduces reliance on alternative heating sources and supports Denmark’s green transition.

NVIDIA Blackwell systems power the facility, and NVIDIA Quantum-X800 InfiniBand connects them. The site lifts CoreWeave’s European footprint to nine data centers across five geographies. These include the United Kingdom, Spain, Sweden, and Norway.

“Modern workloads demand digital infrastructure that is not only high performance, but also energy efficient and responsibly operated,” said Eyjólfur Magnús Kristinsson, CEO at atNorth. “By partnering with atNorth, CoreWeave gains access to DEN01’s infrastructure, designed for GPU-intensive processing, while supporting renewable energy development through power purchase agreements and helping warm local homes through heat reuse, contributing to the green transition.”

Global AI Network Reaches Four Continents

To connect its growing international footprint, CoreWeave is extending its global AI network backbone. The company will add new points of presence in the United Arab Emirates, India, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia, Korea, and Japan. Deployment begins later in the fourth quarter of 2026. A full loop follows in mid-2027. Ultimately, the buildout stretches CoreWeave’s existing North America and Europe network across four continents. Customers will then enjoy more direct connectivity to its AI cloud platform.

CoreWeave designed the backbone specifically for AI workloads. Each point of presence combines multiple 400 gigabit-per-second connections. Hardware-based MACsec encryption protects data in transit. Meanwhile, redundant network paths maintain performance and reliability across regions. Together, these capabilities let customers move large datasets and access computing infrastructure without sacrificing speed or security.

This CoreWeave AI cloud expansion follows the company’s recent announcements in Indonesia and India. It reflects continued investment in the infrastructure that global AI development and deployment require. CoreWeave operated 51 data centers worldwide, with more than 1.5 gigawatts of active power, as of June 30, 2026. Furthermore, it held approximately 4.2 gigawatts of contracted power as of its August 11, 2026 earnings call.

CoreWeave also consistently delivers industry-leading performance. Record-breaking MLPerf benchmark results in inference and training demonstrate this strength. In addition, it remains the only AI cloud to earn the top Platinum ranking in SemiAnalysis ClusterMAX™ three times in a row.
