Cohesity Launches Agent Resilience to Safeguard AI Agent Infrastructure

Cohesity, a leader in AI and data security, has introduced AI Agent Resilience, a fresh capability within Cohesity Data Cloud. This launch focuses on discovering, protecting, and recovering the infrastructure that powers enterprise AI agents. Consequently, the announcement arrives alongside Cohesity’s broader vision for Autonomous Cyber Resilience. The company revealed both updates today at Cohesity Catalyst, its flagship event.

Cohesity Agent Resilience Protects AI Agent Infrastructure

AI agents now query databases, update workflows, and use privileged credentials across the enterprise. Often, these actions happen without human review. Therefore, Gartner predicts that up to 40% of enterprise applications will include task-specific agents by 2026, a sharp rise from under 5% today. Meanwhile, governance tools can flag unusual behavior, but they cannot restore data once an agent corrupts or deletes it. As a result, Cohesity built AI Agent Resilience specifically to close this recovery gap.

New findings from Cohesity’s fifth annual Global Cyber Resilience Report highlight the urgency. Fifty-six percent of organizations admitted they weren’t prepared to detect unintended AI agent actions. Additionally, 58% lacked confidence in verifying AI model integrity after an attack. Given these numbers, Cohesity’s move addresses a real and growing concern.

“Detection can tell you an AI agent went off course. It cannot undo the changes,” said Vasu Murthy, Chief Product Officer, Cohesity. “Cohesity Agent Resilience provides a precise recovery path for both the agents and the resources they impact. Our vision for Autonomous Cyber Resilience is to use agentic workflows to reduce manual work from response and recovery.”

At launch, this solution protects agent memory and configuration using Cohesity’s existing snapshot architecture. It also uses immutable backups and clean-room recovery, tools customers already trust. Furthermore, the offering includes two core functions: protecting agent state through point-in-time recovery, and protecting the databases and systems agents manage. Agent topology further gives teams a unified view of dependencies, connected applications, and infrastructure, making incident recovery faster.

“As AI agents take on more business-critical work, we need to think beyond monitoring and make sure we can recover when something goes wrong,” said Srikanth Kuntamukkala, CIS Global Lead for Partner Sales, Cognizant. “Being able to restore an agent’s state, and the data it may have changed, could give our teams a more practical way to manage that risk as we move agentic applications into production.”

Currently, this capability integrates with Amazon Bedrock AgentCore and Amazon Bedrock Agents. However, Microsoft and Google platform support remains on the roadmap. The feature is available now to select customers, with general availability expected by late 2026.

Path Toward Autonomous Cyber Resilience

Beyond this launch, Cohesity outlined how agentic workflows could automate its five-step cyber resilience framework. This framework protects data, identity, applications, and agents. It also ensures recoverability, remediates threats, tests recovery, and optimizes risk posture. Instead of manual, point-in-time plans, Cohesity envisions continuous protection that adapts as conditions shift, while keeping a human in the loop.

In this model, teams would define objectives through Cohesity Copilot rather than configuring policies manually. For instance, administrators could set recovery time and recovery point objectives for critical workloads. Subsequently, Cohesity Data Cloud would assess resilience posture and recommend protection policies for approval. During incidents, automated workflows would then assess impact and prepare isolated recovery environments.

Separately, Cohesity announced that customers using Data Cloud Enterprise Edition and Cohesity DSPM can now automate protection for newly discovered sensitive data. This builds on Cohesity RecoveryAgent, which orchestrates incident response. Later in 2026, Cohesity Maestro will connect these capabilities to AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini.

“Cyber resilience is not a one-time assessment. It requires teams to protect data, test recovery, detect threats, rehearse responses, and continually improve their risk posture,” said Murthy. “Agentic workflows can take on more of that routine work and help keep the plan current.”

Cohesity Launches AI Resilience Academy

Alongside these product updates, Cohesity introduced the AI Resilience Academy, a new learning path. Its first course, Foundations of AI Resilience with Cohesity, is free and self-paced. It takes just 25 to 30 minutes to complete. Notably, the course distinguishes AI assistants, which recommend actions, from AI agents, which execute them directly.

After finishing, learners will understand agent risks and lifecycle gaps. They’ll also learn how Cohesity Gaia Catalog and Agent Resilience address these challenges. Catalyst attendees receive early enrollment access immediately after the event. The course stays exclusive to attendees for roughly two weeks before wider release.

Ultimately, graduates earn a shareable Credly badge for LinkedIn. This course remains a free entry point, though Cohesity may add paid advanced courses later.
