The AI Defense Challenge 2025 officially launched on July 10 as part of the AI Innovation Competitions at the 2025 INCLUSION·Conference on the Bund. This global AI Defense Challenge 2025 is co-hosted by the China Society of Image and Graphics, the Cloud Security Alliance Greater China Region, and Ant Group.
With rapid progress in large AI models, industries like healthcare, fintech, and smart devices are integrating AI deeply. However, this growth also brings new security threats, particularly deepfake-driven identity attacks. Experts see the AI Defense Challenge 2025 as a timely response to this rising global concern.
This initiative aims to foster collaboration between academia and industry to strengthen AI security. In 2024, the challenge drew over 3,200 global participants from more than 2,700 teams across 18 countries. The 2025 edition continues that mission by focusing on digital identity authentication during interactive AI processes.
Unlike traditional static challenges, this year’s competition uses closed-loop attack and defense simulations, reflecting real-world AI threats. The AI Defense Challenge 2025 invites AI developers, white-hat hackers, and cybersecurity professionals to compete in six technical tracks:
- Track 1: Image All-Factor Interactive Authentication – Generation & Detection
- Track 2: AI Video Intelligent Interactive Authentication – Generation & Detection
- Track 3: Pan-terminal Intelligent Speech Interactive Authentication – Generation & Detection
Organizing partners include the Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, Ant Security and AI Lab, Ant Consumer Finance, Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Zhejiang University, and other global research entities.
Ma Huimin, Vice President of the China Society of Image and Graphics and co-chair of the Organizing Committee, said the speed of AI advancement is matched by AI forgery risks. He emphasized the urgent need for AI defense awareness and security enhancement.
Shao Xiaodong, Vice President of Ant Group and fellow co-chair, highlighted that digital identity protection is vital in areas such as healthcare, finance, and daily services. He noted that the AI Defense Challenge 2025 pushes innovation in AI security and encourages broader efforts to build a trustworthy global AI ecosystem.
