Vecima Networks Inc. has completed its acquisition of Akleza’s CableDiag™ Proactive Network Maintenance (PNM) software platform. The company announced this move today. Consequently, Vecima now holds certain related assets tied to the platform. This acquisition strengthens Vecima’s Entra® Intelligence portfolio significantly. Furthermore, CableDiag brings a widely deployed PNM software suite to the table. More than 25 cable operators currently use this platform. Additionally, it monitors over five million DOCSIS® devices across North America.
This strategic move allows Vecima to expand deeper into virtualized broadband access software. Meanwhile, industry data supports this growth direction. According to Dell’Oro Group, the vCMTS virtualized core market will grow substantially. This market includes PNM, provisioning, and OSS software. Therefore, experts expect it to reach nearly US$500 million annually by 2030.

How CableDiag Extends AI-Powered Entra Intelligence
Entra Intelligence serves as Vecima’s AI-powered operational platform for broadband access networks. Specifically, it covers service provisioning, configuration, and streaming telemetry. It also handles fault analysis, correlation, and AI-recommended remediation. Meanwhile, Akleza’s CableDiag software continuously monitors broadband network health. As a result, operators can identify problems before they affect service quality. With CableDiag, operators pinpoint network faults remotely with precision. Often, they can locate issues down to a specific street segment. Moreover, operators can clear certain faults remotely without dispatching technicians.
CableDiag works alongside Vecima’s Entra vCMTS and Remote PHY Devices (RPDs). Together, these tools give operators complete visibility from headend to cable modem. Notably, the software remains vendor-agnostic throughout deployment. It works with all leading CMTS and vCMTS platforms. Therefore, operators can deploy it without hardware changes or major capital expenditure.
