Bloom Energy and MiTAC Computing Technology Corp. have deepened their partnership to speed up the deployment of AI on-site power at advanced manufacturing facilities. The agreement highlights the increasing importance of on-site AI power to support manufacturers building next-generation AI infrastructure. Bloom Energy will also build a new fuel cell microgrid at MiTAC’s AI server manufacturing campus in Fremont California. The project also boosts the company’s AI onsite power presence at two locations in California.

The new installation builds on Bloom Energy’s existing fuel cell deployment at MiTAC’s manufacturing facility in San Jose. This will significantly increase MiTAC’s contracted onsite power capacity. The expansion will enable the company to meet current manufacturing needs and position for future production growth driven by increasing demand for AI onsite power infrastructure.

Power supply challenges continue to grow for commercial and industrial businesses. Similarly, manufacturers of artificial intelligence technologies now face the same energy constraints as AI data centers. Today, the company supports nearly two dozen AI infrastructure customers with approximately 250 MW of contracted capacity. This rapid growth reflects the increasing demand for dependable onsite energy solutions across the AI ecosystem.

Today, Bloom serves nearly two dozen AI infrastructure customers with approximately 250 MW of capacity, from a running start of nearly zero in this segment just two years ago. Projects like MiTAC demonstrate that Bloom is the standard for onsite power, helping customers – from data centers to advanced manufacturers – move faster and build the infrastructure powering the AI economy.”

Unlike combustion, Bloom Energy’s AI onsite power fuel cell systems generate electricity through an electrochemical process. This means they provide clean, reliable power on site, while eliminating a number of operational headaches. Also, these systems are ideal for sites where permitting, water availability, or noise restrictions may impede conventional power projects. Their quick deployment also allows organizations to meet growing energy demands without lengthy infrastructure waits.

The company’s AI onsite power technology already powers hundreds of megawatts across critical data center operations around the world. Bloom Energy is also growing through partnerships with American Electric Power (AEP), Brookfield, Equinix, Nebius and Oracle.
