Align Technology plans to open a new Hyderabad manufacturing facility in 2027. This medical device company designs, manufactures, and sells the Invisalign System. They also sell iTero intraoral scanners and exocad CAD/CAM software. The company will spend approximately $200 million in capital and operational expenses over the next several years. This investment fits within the capital equipment guidance provided for 2026. The new site will create more than 300 direct jobs over the next several years.
Furthermore, this site marks the first manufacturing presence for the company in India. It represents their fourth facility globally. The proposed operations should be margin accretive in the first year.
“India represents an important growth market for Align, and we are excited about the opportunity to expand our global manufacturing network with a new facility in Hyderabad. This investment underscores our commitment to scaling our advanced manufacturing capabilities, supporting our doctor customers, and bringing the benefits of the Invisalign System to more patients worldwide. Hyderabad’s strong talent base, infrastructure, and innovation ecosystem make it an ideal location for our next phase of growth,” said Jitse Marrée, Align executive vice president, global operations.
Dental Device Expansion in India
This project scales operations to support high-growth markets like India. It strengthens supply chain resilience and drives shareholder value. The location builds on an existing footprint in the city. That presence includes the Global Capability Center and the Align Innovation Center.
“We are proud to expand Align’s global manufacturing footprint with our first manufacturing facility in India and a new state-of-the-art site in Hyderabad. This investment reflects our long-term commitment to the Asia-Pacific region and builds on our continued expansion across key markets, where we have been investing in local teams, capabilities, and digital treatment planning infrastructure to support growing adoption of the Invisalign System. The Hyderabad facility represents an important milestone as we scale our operations in high-growth markets and further strengthen our ability to support Invisalign-trained doctors and their patients. With this investment, we expect to enhance service levels across the region through more localized, customized support,” said JunHo Han, Align executive vice president and managing director, Asia Pacific.
