Cloudflare, Inc. announced new zero trust tools designed to secure large-scale generative AI adoption. The company expanded its Cloudflare One platform to give organizations complete visibility and control over AI usage. With these tools, businesses can adopt AI securely while ensuring compliance, privacy, and efficiency.
Teams across finance, marketing, engineering, and design now rely on generative AI for daily tasks. However, rapid adoption often occurs without adequate security safeguards. Employees may paste sensitive data into AI chatbots, or engineers may deploy AI apps without oversight. Therefore, organizations need secure systems to prevent risks and still benefit from AI innovation.
Matthew Prince, CEO and co-founder of Cloudflare, emphasized security and scale. “Cloudflare is the best place to roll out AI securely. We uniquely combine a zero trust platform with AI products backed by our global network,” he said. Prince noted that businesses want AI innovation at speed, but with security built in.
New AI security features for businesses
Cloudflare has introduced AI Security Posture Management (AI-SPM) within its zero trust platform. These features empower organizations to monitor, manage, and protect AI usage:
- Shadow AI insights – The Shadow AI Report provides instant visibility into AI usage, identifying which apps employees access and how they use them.
- AI policy enforcement – Cloudflare Gateway enforces AI policies at the network edge, blocking or limiting unapproved AI apps and ensuring compliance.
- AI prompt protection – Security teams can now flag and block risky prompts, preventing sensitive data like source code from entering untrusted AI tools.
- Centralized AI visibility – With Zero Trust MCP Server Control, businesses gain a unified dashboard to monitor all AI model-to-server interactions, enabling stronger access control.
By integrating these tools, Cloudflare ensures that enterprises can leverage AI safely. The platform protects sensitive data, prevents security lapses, and enables employees to use AI confidently without restrictions.
