Philanthropy has just experienced the most disruptive period of change in the last 50 years. 2020 was tumultuous and transformative, and for grantmakers and nonprofits alike, it served as a catalyst for change.
Long-held practices were challenged and reinvented. Organizations scrambled to work remotely, distribute funds digitally, and rapidly create new grant programs. Software was thrust into the spotlight as we looked to technology to overcome the chaos.
It was a long slog, but in the end we survived—and emerged with better ways of working.
